Ahmed was born in Egypt and was an Egyptian citizen. Ahmed applied for a United States passport, stating on his application that he’d been born in Brooklyn. When asked for additional documentation supporting his application, Ahmed submitted a forged baptismal certificate falsely stating that he’d been baptized in Brooklyn as an infant.
