I.  18 U.S.C. § 1512: Tampering with a Witness, Victim, or an Informant

Section 1512 of Title 18, known as the witness-tampering statute, addresses tampering with a wide array of actual, potential, and excused witnesses. Like the other obstruction statutes, the witness-tampering statute doesn’t require that a defendant’s tampering endeavors be successful for a conviction.
