I. Federal Environmental Laws
If a wind farm is constructed on federal lands, then the Bureau of Land Management, or another federal agency that manages the land, must comply with all National Environmental Policy Act, or NEPA, requirements, including creating environmental assessments or environmental-impact statements. In addition to NEPA, there are other federal environmental laws that wind farms must comply with before and during operations.
