Facts
The Law Offices of Herssein and Herssein, P.A. (firm) (plaintiff) sued United Services Automobile Association (defendant). The firm moved to disqualify the trial judge on the grounds that the judge was Facebook friends with the lawyer appearing before the judge on behalf of a potential party and witness. The trial court denied the motion. The appellate court denied the firm’s petition for writ of prohibition. The Florida Supreme Court granted review.
