To manage upwards successfully, you need to have a voice. As we discussed in the lesson the Price of Power, that means not succumbing to the laryngitis that some associates face in the presence of power. But, in your relationships with senior lawyers, you need to go beyond simply finding the courage to speak up. You also need to focus on building three things: credibility, rapport, and trust.
