Joe Cox, JD

Joe is an attorney and writer from just outside Bowling Green, Kentucky. After graduating law school, he practiced in a litigation-heavy small firm, including taking part in 4 published cases with the Kentucky Court of Appeals. Most of this work was insurance defense, but Joe also practiced in probate, collection, and other areas. In 2016, Joe joined another small firm, where he practiced in everything from plaintiff's personal-injury law to real estate work. In recent years, Joe has transitioned away from the practice of law into writing about legal developments and briefing cases. Joe's favorite part of the practice of law was using legal knowledge to clarify difficult subjects, a passion that carries over into his legal writing. In his spare time, Joe has written or cowritten several books about sports. His work has been discussed in the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal, and he appeared as a guest on MLB Network to discuss his 2019 book, Almost Perfect.
