Definition

The GI Bill provides educational benefits to military servicemembers, veterans, and eligible dependents. The GI Bill was originally enacted as the Serviceman’s Readjustment Act of 1944. The most recent iteration of the GI Bill is the 2017 Harry W. Colmery Veterans Educational Assistance Act, known as the Forever GI Bill.
