Material Breach of Treaty

Definition

An international treaty may be terminated by acts amounting to a material breach of the treaty by one or more parties, such as a repudiation of the treaty not sanctioned by the present Convention, or the violation of a provision essential to the accomplishment of the object or purpose of the treaty.
