New Jersey’s Comparative Negligence Act

Definition

A New Jersey law, set forth at N.J. Stat. Ann. § 2A:15-5.1 et seq., that provides for an allocation of liability among the plaintiff and defendant and establishes how damages should be apportioned based on the percentages of fault assigned to the parties by the factfinder.
