Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction and Enforcement Act
Definition
A uniform set of laws, promulgated in 1997 and adopted by nearly every state, whose purpose is to give continuous, exclusive jurisdiction over child-custody matters to courts of the child’s "home state" and to provide a process for interstate enforcement.
