Facts
Granite Construction Co. (defendant) was building a power plant. An accident at the site resulted in the death of seven construction workers. A grand jury indicted Granite Construction for manslaughter. Granite Construction filed a petition with the court alleging that corporations were exempt from prosecution for manslaughter.
