Harris v. Watson
170 Eng. Rep. 94 (1791)
Harris (plaintiff) was a seaman on Watson’s (defendant) ship. During the voyage, when the ship was in danger, Watson promised to pay Harris an extra five guineas (a type of British coin). Watson failed to pay and Harris sued.
