Facts
Olen Kelley (plaintiff) was working at a store in Maryland when he was shot during a robbery of the store. The shooter used a gun designed by Rohm Gesellschaft, a German corporation, and assembled by R.G. Industries, Inc., a Miami-based corporation (defendants). Kelley filed a tort suit against the defendants, seeking to recover on a theory of strict liability. Kelley claimed that the manufacture of handguns was an abnormally dangerous activity.
