Peet v. Roth Hotel Co.
Minnesota Supreme Court
191 Minn. 151, 253 N.W. 546 (1934)
- Written by Rocco Sainato, JD
Facts
Mrs. Peet (plaintiff) left her ring at the front desk of the St. Paul Hotel, owned by Roth Hotel Company (defendant), to be picked up by Ferdinand Hotz, a renowned jeweler. The ring in question was to be repaired by Mr. Hotz, a frequent guest of the St. Paul Hotel. One month after leaving the ring with the front desk, Mrs. Peet discovered that it never reached Mr. Hotz. She then brought this action against Roth Hotel Company, with the trial court ruling in favor of Mrs. Peet. Roth Hotel Company then petitioned for certiorari to the Supreme Court of Minnesota.
