The scope of copyrightable subject matter is broad. Section 102 of the Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. 102.) defines eight categories of works of authorship, covering a wide variety of creative expression. Copyrightable works include literary works, musical works, and dramatic works. Pantomime and choreography are copyrightable.
