Factual Findings Exception

Definition

A hearsay exception, applicable in civil cases or against the government in a criminal case, for factual findings based on an investigation made pursuant to legal authority. The exception was formally codified in Rule 803(8)(C) of the Federal Rules of Evidence and is now codified in Rule 803(8)(A)(iii).
