Section 243(h)(1) of the Immigration and Nationality Act

Definition

This section allows for the Attorney General to withhold deportation by discretion, if the Attorney General determines that an alien would be threatened in said country on account of race, religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group, or political opinion.
