11 U.S.C. § 101(5)


A provision of the United States Bankruptcy Code that defines “claim” as a right to payment or right to an equitable remedy for breach if such breach would entitle the victim to a right to payment, with the “right to payment” in either case defined broadly so as to encompass not only rights that are fixed or matured but also those that are unliquidated, contingent, or disputed.
