Color of Title

Definition

A condition in which a possessor of land has a document that purports to give title to the property but that for some reason is ineffective to do so. Color of title may allow an adverse possessor to claim an entire property if she enters under color of title and possesses some part of the property that has a reasonable relationship to the whole.
