Learn about a type of theft that requires the taking and carrying away of the personal property of another with the intent to permanently deprive the owner.
The criminal law recognizes different categories of theft. Today, we'll discuss three of them: larceny, embezzlement and false pretenses.

We should note from the outset that it doesn't matter whether there is any benefit to the person who takes the property; if the elements of the crime are met, larceny is established.
